Product Summary:

SMOOTHLITE is a glass diffuser that consists of a thin glass plate covered with a proprietary light scattering coating. It provides highly uniform diffusion properties and neutral color, while keeping light transmission above 50%. It is the perfect choice for large direct backlight units.
It provides an outstanding durability to the backlight unit when compared to conventional plastic diffusers. First, the coating acts as a UV-blocker, thus preventing the yellowing of plastic films placed between lamps and LCD cell. Second, as our glass diffuser is 100% made of mineral material, its very properties are very stable and color shifts do not occur under lamp exposure. Finally, thanks to the glass substrate, it does not deform with temperature, and wide sizes do not sag.

The substrate is an extra-clear float glass.
The coating is neutral in color. Its light transmission level
can be tuned to fit the application needs.
While the diffuser is itself non-sensitive to UV, it can have
strong UV-blocking properties to protect other components
of the backlight system.
