The smart fabric application for this office will be used on the arm rests of the chiars. This will give the workers a convinice to controll there mp3 players, answer cell phones, office phones, etc. Since Smart fabrics can be operated wireless they can eliminate gatgets from there desk.

Product Summary:

Eleksen ElekTex Smart Fabric uses a three-layer fabric sandwich. The top layer has conductive stripes impregnated into the fabric in one direction. The bottom layer has conductive stripes as well, oriented 90 degrees around from the top layer. Then a semi-conductive middle layer is a mesh that separates the top and bottom layers. When you press on the top layer, it makes a connection through the mesh to the bottom layer and that gives the controller an X/Y coordinate.

Architectural Applications:

Smart Fabrics will allow people to stay connected without the use of bulky gatgets. They can be embeded on surfaces such as desks, side panels, cloths, etc. They eliminate things on desks, in your pockets and give the user the controll to operate several communications devices from a central panel. Since it can operate thorugh bluetooth technology no wire are neccarry.
